Rhetoric is one of the most effective ways in which the disempowerment of women is perpetuated. In particular, phrases linked to femininity that are intended to be insulting are damaging. This video by the Always campaign captures this phenomenon perfectly.

  2. Thanks for the post, I am sad that I remember getting these comments but moreso that my response was ‘NO I DON’T’ and then throwing the football with a mild spiral to show them all ‘I throw like a boy, see!’ – good! If only we took female athletics as seriously as mens, UGHH
